Call for Solidarity: Proposed bill could put Quebec co-ops at risk

(National eNews Article originally shared by CHF Canada)

Housing co-ops in Quebec are rallying against the proposed Bill 20 which, if adopted, could undermine their stability, inclusiveness and democratic functioning.

Specifically, the bill proposes income limits for members and the selection of members from a centralized waiting list. As housing co-ops across the country know, diversity, inclusion and democracy are foundational to thriving co-operative communities.

CHF Canada stands firmly in solidarity with its members in Quebec on Bill 20.

What can you do?

Read CHF Canada’s position on the bill, and consider signing the petition being advanced by the co-operative housing sector in Quebec.
